Why do we make our Spoolies curlers in the U.S.A.?

We had many false starts in manufacturing Spoolies due to U.S. companies who had a partnership, or owned a factory, overseas. They encouraged our owner to use their overseas factory since the curlers were lightweight and could ship easily. Plus, the cost would be less than 1/2, since labor was very inexpensive overseas.

Finally, after many disappointments in workmanship, our owner, Jeanne James, found a factory in Southern California who made only medical-grade silicone products. They made all their products in a "clean room," and the products were inspected to the highest level. Their material was bonafide and not cut with a gum material or PVC plastic as some of the sample products Jeanne received from overseas. That is why Spoolies are hypoallergenic and heat resistant, and can withstand the heat of a hair dryer. They are made from a premium material!

The new factory had to charge U.S. prices, but it was worth it to have the Spoolies name on a quality product. It was always Jeanne, and her family's, dream to manufacture in the U.S.A. and to provide jobs here. Once she started working with the new factory, she never looked back. Do Spoolies cost more . . . yes, but the material, quality and workmanship are supreme and Spoolies curlers are proudly 100% satisfaction guaranteed and made in the U.S.A.!!
